Purushottama Kshetra extends beyond Puri and includes holy places such as Bhubaneswar (anciently known as Ekamra), Konark, Jajpur (anciently known as Viraja), and so many other places where famous and ancient temples still stand.

Puri has many temples and especially many Mathas, religious institutions established in the course of centuries to accommodate pilgrims and spread spiritual consciousness.

Such Mathas and Ashrams belong to various traditions and present the Vedic knowledge from many different angles.
